Gladys Avenue Urban Farm

Tucked between a kennel, upholstery shop, automotive warehouse, and plastic factory is an urban farm in Long Beach, California. Founded by oceanographic researcher, Captain Charlie Moore, the 250 sq. ft. plot has been practicing organic growing principles for over 25 years.

It’s gone through several iterations, including a plant nursery, company garden, and CSA producer. That I’m aware of, it currently thrives as a kitchen garden for Chef Gary Menes of restaurant Le Comptoir in Los Angeles.
